Ken Calvert votes in favor of a stopgap funding bill that includes a raise for members of Congress, a decision Calvert directly benefits. This is yet another example of his 30-year track record of putting himself ahead of the taxpayers he was elected to serve (Source: Congressional Voting Records).
This is the only job in America where you can vote to give yourself a raise. That decision should rest with the taxpayers who fund these salaries—not with Congress. As your future representative, I will fight to change this system and ensure that accountability and transparency are prioritized in Washington (Source: Government Accountability Office).
The stopgap bill also includes a laundry list of wasteful spending items, continuing the same reckless fiscal behavior we’ve seen in the past. While details of specific provisions are still being reviewed, similar bills have historically included misallocated funds, pet projects, and unnecessary administrative expenses (Source: Congressional Budget Office).
For over 30 years, Ken Calvert has consistently chosen himself over the people of California’s 41st District. His record of reckless spending and self-serving policies has made it clear that it’s time for new leadership.
In 2026, we have an opportunity to make real change. But to do that, we need to unite behind one candidate who can defeat Calvert in the primaries. Splitting the vote will only secure another term for him. I am Cody Wiebelhaus, and I’m ready to bring common sense, accountability, and leadership back to Washington. Together, we can vote Ken Calvert out and send a message that the people—not career politicians—come first. Let’s make it happen in 2026.
